Atkins Diet: Low Carb Breakfast - not necessarily like Mom made

I deal with the question by a viewer who like I was sick of eggs and bacon, and was looking for alternative breakfast items.

My criteria for a good low carb breakfast is:
* has to be quick to make
* has to be easy to make
* has to provide enough nutrition for morning activities and mid day exercise

I also suggest the valuable step of prepping for breakfast the night or the week before by chopping the vegetables or cooking the meat beforehand to expand your options. With that in mind, there are countless options for the 5-minute or less breakfast meals.

I highlight my favorite 5:
* Taco or Fajita Salad
* Low Carb Stir Fry
* Sausage Broccoli Quiche
* Upside Down Low Carb Pizza
* Low Carb Pancakes and Syrup (see my recipes posted on Youtube)

  • Bowulf, i found your videos a few days ago and I think you're AWESOME! Your recipes are so creative! I have done atkins on and off for years and I have been thinking about giving it another try. I am insulin resistant and obese. Your videos are SOOOO inspirational. Keep doing what you're doing and God bless!

  • @matchbox555 You mean doesn't work like I didn't actually lose 210 pounds on it? Or that my heart risk factors -- cholesterol, hypertension, resting heart rate, triglycerides -- didn't all dramatically improve? Or that I haven't maintained that weight loss following Atkins for 7 years? Or that I haven't found energy now to do new things that even my 18 year old self could not do?

    I ask because it worked in spades for me. About the only thing it didn't do is prove the critics right.

  • @sarahsoluvable You mean how all my heart risk factors went away, my pre-diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, eliminating being constant out of breath, or how all my annual physicals and blood works have been excellent in the last 7 years? Or do you mean the fact I can now run marathons?

    You mean even though everything possible to be checked, measured, or evaluated in the last 7 years shows that I have been much, much healthier that I am not. Really? I'll take my supposed "unhealthy" results.

  • @bowulf For example, there are limits on cream (1-2 fl oz) and cheese (3-4 oz/day). Did you exceed them?

  • @matchbox555 But then again that's not Atkins... Post your menus (and the amounts eaten and drank), and we can figure out why.

  • @gsdotgs i ate loads of meat cheese and cream and i didnt lose an ounce

  • @matchbox555 virtually every diet works. 99.9 percent of the population doesn't have the will power to exercise one properly. Just like you are unable to exercise an intelligent statement.
