What is funny to me is how they are trying so hard to look like nigerians and nigerians are trying so hard to look like them.

@bluntress Greetings to correct you if you will. We are not trying anything,as Yoruba decendants we are reclaiming our stolen heritage. as for Yoruba back home They may be more interested in European or American more so then we cultural restorationist.

my question is Why do you all refer to those of us (in the dispora) as African-Americans , Africans of the UK and not your lost kindred or lost brothers and sisters , the lost souls, the lost ones..etc.

what do you perfer we call our brothers and sisters abroad? Many people here in the village are "African American" and we all have traces of our collective expearience and we gather here to try and have a bit of our culture ministered to us. WE are the same as you assuming you are an "African American"

Since we share one or more common ancestors with those abroad I personally would consider the term "universal kindred" impiling that WE are in union despite our abiding locations of earth.

how about multiversal kindred.
