This is a Brahminy Blind Snake I found inside my house. It is truely a unique kind of snake. Being that they are an all female species, it takes only one snake to colonize a new area. They are often transported to new areas via laying low in the moist soil of a flower pot. Thus, this snake is commonly referred to as "The flower pot snake".

*no animals were harmed in the making of the video
*the snake was safely release into the wild (my backyard)

  • I've never tried keeping one as a pet and do not know the challenges in trying to do so. I do encounter them once every few months and I love filming them.

Their prey include termites and other small larva. I do not believe they are venomous but I am no snake expert so I would suggest admiring them while respecting their tiny existence from a safe distance. Which for them is just a few inches away as they are so small. ; )

  • San Antonio,TX

  • I live in San Antonio, TX and I see them quite often here. I'm originally from the Rio Grande Valley in TX and I've never seen one down there.

I'm about to upload an even better video where you can see the tiny snake flicking it's little tongue to taste the surrounding air.

  • They eat small insect larva. And they can grow to be about 12 inches long. The biggest I've seen so far is around 7in.

  • what is the name of the song ?

  • @Aterkomsten LOL! They really do look like earthworms... that have gone haywire! I'm sure the bird enjoyed it!
