The Pak army continues to pound Taliban strongholds in South Waziristan even as fighting intensified with artillery and aerial attacks on insurgent positions. Schools and educational institutions, including those run by the army, across Pakistan were closed for a week due to terror threats in the wake of a major offensive in the South Waziristan tribal region.
