This video from June/2005 opens with brief footage of me in front of a big Buddha statue on the temple grounds very near my wife's Nong Soong family home.
From there, it jumps to the following day when Jack and I tried to visit Vi, a friend of ours. We learned that Vi was not home, but had gone to Bangkok to work to help her parents feed and clothe her baby. The baby's father, who I believe may have been from Iceland, had not only stopped contacting Vi any longer, but had stopped helping support the child. Consequently, we found out, Vi had no choice but to leave home to seek work as a waitress in a bar she had worked at a year or two before in the Nana Entertainment Plaza.
I'd never seen Jack with a baby before, and enjoyed watching how at ease she was with the young girl.
After we left Vi's home to return to Jack's place, we made a stop along the way at a small Thai shop. I no longer remember why -- possibly Jack both wanted something to quench her thirst, and to see the young lady we ended up sitting with.
This lady was visiting her family who owned the store, for she had taken up residence in Scotland to be with her husband, the father of the little boy in the video. Thai/Farang mixes such as this little boy are apparently very popular with most Thai people, and you can see that the grandfather of the boy seems distinctly proud.
