When meeting Richard Wagner, do not mention Meyerbeer

One of Richard Wagner's friends immediately commits a faux pas by mentioning the name of a rival composer...err... hated composer. Richard is often the life of the party with his vibrant stories, but they can sometimes turn ugly. Still, I think someone played a prank on this dolt by not telling him of sensitive topics to be avoided when meeting Richard.

This is a scene from the made-for-TV miniseries called "Wagner: The Complete Epic", starring Richard Burton as The Master himself. It was released in the early 90s, I think. It's well worth the watch if you're a Wagner fan. Richard Burton is as brilliant as he ever was.
