The Aurora Borealis, as it greeted me when I went home to Senja, North-Norway, this Christmas. The Northeren Lights are difficult to film, but it is possible. I also made the score: Sailing At Night.

  • this is so beautiful, thank you. pretty music, too. I didn't know you could see the AB in Norway, however, things are changing.

  • @apleiadean It's been like that for a very long time. However due to how the magnetic North Pole is drifting, it may become less visible in the coming years.

However just the last few days there has been a lot of AB activity due to solar eruptions. Sadly I live too far south to see that now, or i would have made another film! :)

  • That how we see them? Ive never seen one :(

Well, Ive been in Norway, in Autumn some years ago, Finse. Amazing landscape, beautifull country...

unfortunately in my country, Portugal, there are no auroras...i hope to one day when i return to northern europe i wish i can see auroras.

  • Yup, that's how they look like. :) You should take a trip up north to Troms or Finnmark mid-winter. There will not be much sun light, only a couple of hours a day, and very cold in some places - down to minus 50 degrees celsius on the Finnmarksvidda plains. Great for looking up at the stars. Remember a tripod for your camera.

  • ooh, this is so beautiful...I saw something exactly like this when I was in Norway from januari till april this year, same color, same style...I really felt in love with norway...

I've been in Tromsø, Bardufoss, and Setermoen...

it's beautiful, I've no other words for it...thnx for uploading =)

  • My pleasure! :)

Well, the aerial shots are actually from around Bardufoss, and the rest is shot on Senja, just about one hours drive out from Bardufoss.

  • @iball78217 Crazy! I didn't notice! :D And thank you! I have a better version of the song, called Sailing At Night.

  • i want to live here :o

  • Ive been in Iceland one month and a half ago but there was always cloudy and overcast. It was a beautifull journey yet not possible to watch the northlights. Maybe next winter i go to norway, but i guess one has to be pretty lucky to get the clean sky to watch them. Yet, to travell northern Europe is always fascinating and beautifull journey!

  • Flyet skulle til å lande i Bardufoss, Indre Troms. Men resten av opptakene er gjort på Senja.

  • Hvor i nord er vi her?
