If u really want to hear something amazing, listen to him do this song on Ray Charles at Newport. Recorded on Atlantic Records in 1958, It is one of his best performances.

ray charles was played in my house constantly while i was a child growing up in a music-loving household. my mother was a jazz singer & i & all my sisters have formal musical training. by age 5. that was during th 50's. we were exposed to everybody in blues, jazz, country, classical & gospel. we used to put on backyard talent shows & living room shows during the winter holidays. ray charles still has a special place in my heart.
