Hey man, I was just wondering, I downloaded your win98tools iso from the 1st vid, and followed all 3 vids like gospel. But I tried putting in a game (granted it's from 2001), it needed DirectX 8.0, so I installed that. But when the game runs, the audio is so choppy you can't even discern what's happening. Is the game just too new, or is something else wrong?
And sorry for being so lengthy, but I was also wondering, it takes about 2-3 mins for win98 to boot up on my PC. Any help appreciated!

it keeps saying xmidi sound hardware not found please help

@H4H4S4NDM4N No worries. Since I can now have videos longer than 15 minutes I may eventually re-do this one as one long video :P

how do you get the sound to work when i tried to install callahans crosstime saloon when i try to put on sound it xmidi sonund hardware no found
Hi,did you succed in the internet connection on windows 98?
LUCAS1459 1 year ago
@LUCAS1459 I've not tried much with that one, I mainly transfer files to it via the ISO method I showed in the videos - thing is, Windows 98 isn't supported in virtualbox, so the host-only adaptor driver doesn't really go well in it. I'd have to poke around the guest additions ISO and see if there's anything I could use or write a wrapper for, but I'm not sure there is.

So, why did you choose uni in the vbe9x folder over all the other driver? Dos it just seem to perform better?
TNTMan93 1 year ago
@TNTMan93 It does appear to. Once or twice I've had to install the SCI Display Doctor first, then the VBE uni drivers afterwards, before it would recognise the correct device.
The virtualbox drivers don't seem to work properly for virtualbox. I suspect this is because of developments to virtualbox since the driver was written.

@minetogiveaway Would it work to install these drivers when Windows is first installing? For me, it is running the Add New Hardware Wizard and is looking for video drivers.
TNTMan93 1 year ago
@TNTMan93 It wouldn't hurt, but unless you can get it to recognise the device without having to install SCItech's crap, it probably won't make a difference. But no, there's no difference between installing the driver then and installing it later from the desktop.
