moved to ireland from the us and I brought my Xbox 360 console. I did not think there would be an issue with the power plugs because I have been using travel adapters that work great with all my other electronics but for some reason when I plugged my xbox 360 into the travel adapter and then into the wall socket.... my power supply blew up..... no color from the LED indicator light.... no activity at all what so ever.....

I thought i was screwed but I called up the Microsoft support line here in Ireland and they were able to help me out. So ill have to send my bad power supply in using a label they email to me and then a new one will come that will work with my console here in Ireland.

Word of the wise..... Do not use a travel adapter with your us xbox 360 as it has a chance of blowing up the power supply and could possibly damage your XBOX 360!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go through Microsoft and get the correct cable and power supply..... 30 euros is better than 200 euros if you blow your XBOX 360!

!! HAPPY GAMING !!

  • the thing is why your psu blowt up is because in america they use 110V on 60 Hz en in europe the use 220/230V on 50Hz on the net system wen it is not a module psu that can switch from 220/230V to 110V so thats a different amps that you gone get if you psu is 150w on a 230V the amps is 0.65Amps on 110V you amps is 1.36Amps so thats a big difference

  • I dont know if anyone else has posted this yet, but the reason why it blew the power supply is because in England or Ireland, they use 240V plug sockets. In America, your plug sockets only go up to 80V or 120V, depending on where you live. So you should of check that first before plugging it in, silly :P.

  • @fixed11 Google it my good man =^)

  • @xdaznx ...sorry, one more question: both numbers didnt go through on both my american and irish phone. is there some sort of code i need to type in or take away from those numbers?

  • @fixed11 call xbox support and tell them yours blew up and pay for a replacement that will work..... it only cost me 30 euros..... Good Luck =^)

  • @xdaznx .....Thanks for the reply, but I just tried using my friends irish pcu and the chord didnt fit into my xbox. It was the same shape but the little silver slits were just off. I bet xbox made them different on purpose. Where can I get a pcu that fits into my xbox and wont blow the power?

  • we still wait for part 6. loving the story
