Venere Biomeccanica 2/3

Nella primavera del 2003 a Firenze un gruppo di ragazzi punk forza l'entrata dell'ex meccanotessile, un'area adibita dall'amministrazione cittadina a sede museale di arte contemporanea, ma che viceversa è chiusa al pubblico e in stato di abbandono.
Il loro Progetto è la messa in opera di un Laboratorio volto alla costruzione della VENERE BIOMECCANICA, un imponente busto di donna, simbolo di un nuovo Umanesimo fiorentino.
La statua deve essere pronta per il 25 Aprile 2003, giorno in cui è presentata alla città in occasione di una Street Parade che va da P.zza della Repubblica al Parco delle Cascine.
Qui ha inizio la "72 ore", un rave di 3 giorni che sancisce con una festa la fine dell'occupazione.
Da allora l'ex meccanotessile è tornato ad essere vuoto e in abbandono.
Il gruppo Iperuranio era parte di quella storica banda di ragazzi.
Ecco il nostro Manifesto: "Da una centrale di produzione di idee sortono corpi nuovi nudi (e uguali, per questo), ma differenti nelle loro rappresentazioni.
Nell'epoca dell'uranio impoverito/arricchito e del nazismo, ahinoi, si ridiscute di vita e del suo significato rispetto al mondo minerale e fossile."

In the spring of 2003 in Florence, a group of punks broke into an disused textile factory, a building managed by the local council and supposedly going to be opened as a contemporary art museum, but instead was closed to the public and abandoned.
The squatter's project was to put together a workshop and build a Venere Biomeccanica (Biomechanic Venus): a huge bust of a woman. A metaphor for a new Florentine Humanism.
The sculpture had to be ready for the 25th of April 2003 when it was shown to the city in a street parade from Piazza Della Repubblica to Parco delle Cascine (about 4km).
The Parade was to be the start of a three day party that would declare the end of the occupation of the factory.
From that day the buildings remain empty and abandoned.
The group Iperuranio was part of that legendary group.
Here is our manifesto: "From a station where ideas are produced come out new and naked bodies (and, therefore, equal) but different in their depictions.
In the age of enriched (impoverished) Uranium and of Nazism, alas, we again discuss life and its meaning compared to the mineral and fossil world."
