"Back From Iraq" - God Bless Our Troops and America

Charlie Daniels has gone to Iraq and Afghanistan on a number of occasions to do what he can to make there lives a little better. I' sure that he considers what he is doing for them to be very small compared to what they are doing for us and the world.

Here C.D. speaking about the troops.

"Let me tell you something, the people wearing those uniforms are the best weve got," Daniels said. "Theyre the best Americans and they prove it everyday of their lives by laying their lives on the line. These people give up prime years of their lives to go and stand in the gap. Nobody makes them do it. They do it because they want to, because theyre patriots."

Now here's Charlie talking about the ones who are not exactly supporting the troops as far as he is concerned.

Nothing gets me hotter under the collar than some hopped up politician in Washington that sits behind the desk and reads newspapers and sticks his thumb in the air to see what the polls are doing and talks about our armed forces. It makes me want to grab him by the throat. I remember the day that Pearl Harbor was bombed. I was very young, but I remember it. I remember that height of patriotism. I remember the war effort and seeing this country operate at basically 100 percent with everybody pulling the same harness. It was an awesome sight to see, and I wish that our politicians would quit tearing us apart and would learn to get along together, which would go a long way toward helping us all get along together. There may me Democrats, Republicans, Liberals and Conservatives, but were all Americans. We should remember that first. They should remember that first. The hell with the political party. If you've got some loyalty left over for the political party after you get through supporting America, then thats OK - but remember America first.

I'll never forget the times I saw the CDB playing at the county fair back to back two years in a row. After his last song was played the audience was stomping their feet so hard on the aluminum grand stand it sounded like you were standing two inches from a freight train as it was passing at 100 mph.

After we quieted down he played "The Devil went down to Georgia". After he finished that song, I surely thought I was going to die when the grand stands came tumbling down from all of the stomping, but I survived, and have lived to tell about it.

Saw CD Band 2 yrs ago-he did a benefit for my hmtown in NC-that had been flooded-we had a ROCK N ROLL all out Gr8 time-was my son's 1st CD concert and he was AMAZED! yRS AG0-LOL-I made hand made milkshakes for him and his rd crew in a truckstop I was wking in!

CD is as American as it gets! Thanks for this video!
