Some people don't know how to use WireShark properly, so here's another program you can use to packet sniff the network. This program won't identify AIM protocols or anything like Wireshark will, but it's still useful for getting into a cheating spouse's e-mail or MySpace. I also taught my mom how to use it to spy on my little sister and make sure she's not getting herself into trouble.

Cain can be found at http://www.oxid.it/cain.html

This is my last damn video on packet sniffing. Next one will probably be remote desktopping.

Educational purposes only. If you go war driving with this and get busted, don't pin this shit on me. I simply gave you the knowledge; you did it.

  • hi, if i configure, than it says:

    WARNING!!! only ethernet adapters supported.

is this true or can I use a linksys adapter?

  • @Anzuo

Yes. You're right. You know waaaay more about computers than me. Ironically, though, I experienced no more difficulty programming with Windows than I did with Linux. I know, weird.

And yes, I used Linux when I first started. But then I grew up. :-/

  • @NarpytheCrimeDog I write this message from a windows 7 OS. I agree, gaming is better.

There was a point where I would have agreed with you too, about programming. No. For example, gcc? Linux is stereotypical for hackers for a reason. The fact you can recompile your OS from scratch gives you huge power.

Perhaps you make these assumptions about me because you simply do not yet understand. Perhaps you are just ignorant. What is for certain, however, is I am not sending another message here. Bye.

  • @Anzuo

-.-' I have a feeling you think I'm on a high powered server. I'm not. I'm on a personal computer. Windows happens to be much better for gaming, my girlfriends, my friends, and there is quite a bit more software for it for everything I want.

Sure, I COULD dual-boot, but what's the point when I obviously have what I need for Windows. You're just another dweeb who fell into the "LINUX IS THE BEST" BS without actually studying it. OS has nothing to do with programming. Language does

  • @NarpytheCrimeDog It's generally considered better for perl, c, c++, fortran, php (in the server sense). Also _every_ high-powered computer (10+ TFlops) in the world will use linux.

Not all distros are free, but they normally selling customer service, rather than the distro itself.

I'm not completely sure, but I believe from XP SP3+ raw packet writing has been cut from the kernel.

Clearly, this can go on forever. I say we agree to disagree. :)

  • @Anzuo

Not all Linux distros are free and open source.

Linux is not easier to program on, it depends on the language you're programming in.

With a little C# it's really not hard to send raw packets.

  • @NarpytheCrimeDog Actually I feel hackers are out of the box thinkers who believe in freedom and technology.

Linux supplies freedom and is opensource software that "hackers" are much more likely to trust and even have the ability to change and customize it from the ground up.

Linux (or BSD) is a far easier platform to program on, is more secure, and is not developed by multibillion $ companies who refuse to let anyone see under the hood.

Try sending a raw packet in windows... Bet you can't

  • @Anzuo

Yes. I accidentally left my real e-mail on the site. I didn't want the admin to come to me at all.

And as I recall, your site did get hacked. And lemme guess, you're a kid who thinks REAL UBER HACKERS use Linux and terminal, right? Yeah, I thought so. :-/
