This sound effect is becoming increasingly overplayed. When Masterchef used it 3 times in less than a minute I felt somebody should call them out on it. Any reality show with a large group or audience seems to be using this same audio clip several times per episode.

Feel free to post in the comments about times you've heard this sound effect used.

AGT must have used this literally about 10 times on Monday night. SO FAKE.

Couldn't be bothered to just use the real reaction? I'm sure these people were already plenty excited by their opportunity, but let's not cheapen it with this nonsense.

SO WHAT?? Shows have added laugh tracks to promote laughing for 50 years. Nothing odd about it. Humans are emotional and when the audience does not produce enough actual emotional sound, it's easily added to make the show more enjoyable. Get a life and stop picking everything apart. It's a TV show. It's entertainment. Find something TRULY important to do with your life besides being critical of others. The internet has become THE home for nobodies to massage their own egos by being critical.

I think every sound was exaggerated. Amazing, as if they thought we would never figure it out.

Mm, I know all about that, I have one of the Sound Libraries (something I picked up from Film School) but it doesn't have that in there.

Yeah well almost every post-production studios use the same series of sound library. I studied sound engineering and it gets annoying when you hear sounds you're working with nights and days! Ahahaha still pretty funny though...
