Hawking with sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus)to Magpie
This 2 yo female Sparrowhawk catched 34 Magpies between November 2007 and February 2008 (4 months). Unfortuantely you can't fully apreciate the video because of the low quality of Youtube video. If you are interested in the hi-res documentary (DVD quality) contact me (hyerax@gmail.com)
This video is offered by www.falconeria.info website

  • This is soooooo, incredibly hot. I've flown gosses and Coopers' Hawks for years and am trying desperately to get my hands on a Spar. After watching this clip, I now know that a Spar is exactly what I've always wanted a Coops to be. That little bird has more heart than anything I've ever seen!!!!

  • Thanks for the comment swampdorc.... but here in Italy we think the same of Coopers'.... :)

  • I loved it when the magpie started singing "Save me!" with the voice of Amy Lee.

  • this is very nice!

  • complimenti giorgio!

  • I am a follower of New Guinea people's feeding habits. I want to hunt human beings to eat them: unfortunately this is not legal, why? It is nature. So I watch Dexter and try to find a bit of consolation... I would like to hunt sportively, strong humans of course, not children - hunters are among my favourite prowls!

  • That's so sick!!!

  • YEAHHH! I will be hunting humans with my pterodactil, until they bones get broken and I will enjoy the sound! human flesh ripped apart...! THIS is nature!

  • i get these often in my garden, more often than not it doesnt catch anything, never the less an extraodinary bird

  • @Raveneyes jus realised your from the UK so tht doesnt apply for you. Go with the Sparrowhawk ;)

  • @Raveneyes Oh and i am referring to Eurasian Kestrels, im aware the US ones are half the size!! :)

  • @Straightsix76 Just my personal experience, im not a Falconer or Hawker, i just hand held these birds at a Wildlife rescue centre, the Kestrel grabbed my finger caused me some scars!! it was so worth it though, im no expert obviously so hopefully someone who actually knows gives you a proper answer. I also held a Buzzard :D
