I think I busted a button on my trousers!

@iaminbetweendays Mick Taylor was the best thing that happened to the stones.Listening to him playing on this album in the early 70s inspired me to play lead gtr.
-
@1965Z16 - Thanks for that! Didn't know about it.

@privettricker - Yeah, I later learned that that album was HEAVILY overdubbed. Never knew it, though until a couple of years ago. Some of those bootlegs of Gimme Shelter (Philadelphia and Dallas maybe) have some great leads by Mick Taylor.

@privettricker - Good job, man! I like how you even have the nice little A / G / D chord stuff at the beginning aha!!

@iaminbetweendays The expanded edition is even better. They should have made it a double LP back when it was originally released.

NICE, been playing this all these years in Open G and just not getting the right feel. Now I know why - duh! Thx man!! Good work as usual.

@stonz82 I don't know why he switched to standard tuning for this on the 69 American tour. He did it in the original open D at Hyde Park that summer and it sounded fine. I also think they slowed it down a little too much for the live versions. I liked the album version better - that version is laid back, but it still rocks.
