This is my robot project from a course I took at the University of Minnesota in fall 2006. It plays Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds on the glockenspiel. Enjoy!

  • this is an awesome viedo but i was wondering would you be able to post the notes ? i just started playing glockenspiel and i've learned most of this song but just seem to be missing something.

  • This actually has nothing to do with a glockenspiel since its the organ part on the real recording. I just put it on there for sake of the project. The notes are: EAEGEAF#AEFDC#A

  • That is so amazing.

As soon as I heard the first three notes, i was like "No...way!" that's cool beans.

    Beatles are amazing. :DD

  • Thanks everyone for the kind words! I definitely like to think people will get a kick out of this. The Beatles are with out a doubt the most important thing to ever happen!

  • can it do chords?

  • Yes is can do chords. You can actually hear one very briefly at the end. The usual pattern (towards the end) is: F D C# A ( D and C# being eight notes and F and A being quarter notes). But on the last time you can here an F major chord (minus the 5th) at the end for a whole measure. I exactly replicated the organ intro from the real song, but you can see that with a glockenpsiel you have virtually no sustain so chords aren't that appealing and can sound kind of muddy.
