Television's unofficial (and low-budget) answer to Mary Poppins would be Nanny & The Professor. This is a promo commercial for the classic TV sitcom.

A little bit of trivia: the little girl on the show is the future-to-be aunt of Paris Hilton.

BIT OF TRIVIA: the little blond haired girl is the real life aunt of Paris Hilton.

  • The name of the little lady..who is the youngest member of"Everett"family is"Prudence"..(her real name is Kim Richards).

  • @4thekidsTV Kim Richards grew up and appeared in "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills", and is currently in rehab. Kim is also the real life aunt of Paris Hilton. I met her at an autograph show, and I asked her to confirm that she was the aunt of Paris. She looked to the right, and then to the left, she then proceded to confirm her relationship. She also said that her daughter was first asked to be the cohort of Paris in the reality show that Paris & Nicole Ritchie ultimately starred in.

  • Aunt Henrietta (the lady with the turban) is Elsa Lanchester, The Bride of Frankenstein.

  • @keca1430 What confidence the network had in its Monday lineup too. At 8 Nanny, at 8:30 nothin'--you guys are on your own! :D. In fact I think out local affiliate showed Lassie at 8:30, which had begun its first-run syndication era. A good fit but of course there was no way that kind of arrangement would last.

  • @GooglFascists LOL :)

  • Hey, they could do a sequel now called

"Granny & the Professor", starring Juliet

Mills and her real life husband/son Max

    Caulfield.

  • I remember when they syndicated this show in 1972 to a local indep. station here in DC, they used this promo, but covered the ABC logo with a black dot.

  • ABC executives were idiots for messing with success, and moving this fine family sitcom from Friday nights, to Monday night, where it got killed in the ratings during its 3rd season, but it got cancelled due to poor rating opposite CBS-TV's Gunsmoke and NBC's Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.

  • Hoping 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment would release "Nanny and the Professor" on DVD soon and to have extras like promos like this one.

  • A kooky show, but I loved it. I was in 7th grade (12 years old) when it debuted in January of 1970. What a great childhood memory.
