01:48 K. S. K. (Josky Kiambukuta)

12:53 Nda-Ya (Mpudi Decca)

21:20 Pesa Position Na Yo (Madilu System)

30:49 Mukungu (Gerry Dialungana)

K. S. K. is introduced 00:00 by it's composer, recorded 30-6-1991 and 9-7-1991 in Brussels.

Nda-Ya is introduced 11:53 by it's lead singer, Ntesa Dalienst, recorded 15-10-1990 in Brussels. After the introduction in Lingala, Nda-Ya is sung in Kintandu, which was Mpudi Decca's dialect of Kikongo. (Ntesa's Kikongo dialect was Kisingombe.)

The album was released in 1984 (in Kenya in 1985) but may have been recorded in 1983, in studio Madeleine in Brussels.

Converted from mint condition Belgian pressing. As on the record, Franco's guitar is on the right channel on the first song and on the left channel on the other three, starting after the break 15:33 in Nda-Ya.

  • I hear you, but I have always managed to distinguish Thierry and Luambos playing mainly due to the fact Franco's sounds unrestricted and has more deviations, I don't know how to explain it. Good examples would be the song Tutti and Bomba Bomba Mabe, but thanks for that insight and quick response.

  • @chiwherure As long as we agree that Thierry plays on Tuti, yeah, you're quite right.

  • I always thought it was common knowledge that Franco played on the album especially on Ndaya cause he responds when his name is mentioned and the playing is unmissable. Just a thought.

  • @chiwherure At 15:45 after the name Luambo, I hear a slided note, easy to miss the connection, and he only plays from the break and what he does there is very unusual. Also, K. S. K., his guitar was on the other channel and his playing there was even more unusual and extremely subtle. By the way, there are songs in which Thierry plays the Franco part, and responds to the name Luambo too. And playing on an album is not the same as playing on every song. Most albums, Franco plays some, not all.
