My 2011-2012 Fall and WInter outlook. This is the frist one ive made. If you have any questions, just ask. Scale for reading temperature charts: White = Neutral (Average). Light blue = Slightly below average. Dark blue = Below average. Purple = Much below average.

@Fox250R It usually happens that way. the Northwest and southwest have had cutoff lows for some time since october. December kinda flipped. Now this monday you wont be saying fail. Very very cold weather ahead for Both washington and oregon After Saturday.

I live in Upstate NY. It's December 11th 2011. It's been above average temps (near record warmth) and below average snow so far. In fact we have only had 3" of snow. Normally by now it's at least a foot. Care to try again?

@outlawracer2229 Haha calm down there. This was just for fun, whether you took it seriously or not is up to you. I am aware of the warmth in the east. Its probably going to continue to be warm there too. The west coast and the plains is where the cold is remaining for the time being. I expected a trough to spill over the ridge in the plains, but it just hasnt worked that way. At least I got the wastern/central portion of the country right.

@seahawks12thman123 Yep. During the fall you werent, you were actually below average and saw some rainfall. I was only accurate until December. Next year ill be taking it 2-3 months at a time.

Look, this is the first winter of a La Nina winter. The weather is predictably wet and above normal. Next winter will be slightly colder, and after that a really cold one.

Your predictions for the fall didn't pan out too well for North Dakota. Also, have you considered a revision for the winter / spring months? Or are you still confident that much of North Dakota will be below average in terms of mean temperature for the period?
