A dash cam of a following car captured the accident, thankfully no one was seriously hurt.

  • neh, that's not in japan. it's in taiwan

  • Idk about other parts of the world, but here in NY it IS legal to cross a solid double yellow if you are making a left to enter/exit a parking lot, driveway or highway (which this vehicle appears to have been doing). However, the nonsense of pulling right to turn left (which I see daily) is complete BS and helped confuse the scooter driver. The scooter driver should NOT have attempted to pass a vehicle IN THE SAME LANE for any reason, though. That was stupid as hell. Impatience rules the world.

  • driver of the van have to use fuckin blinker......he didnt so he is wrong cause he dont usw simple essentual rules of traffic....... dum idea to override instead of stop yes but the van still cause the accident by dont usw the left blinker if e want to go left

  • you ride scooter not drive, driver of the van not at fault, any sensible biker can tell you that

  • looks like a lady rider... hope she's not hurt...

  • @3rdMillenniumCoyote1 I know your reply was a year or more ago, but I wanted to mention that most states allow crossing a double yellow line to enter or exit traffic, but not for passing. For it to be illegal to cross the lines at all, many states make quadruple yellow lines.

  • Scooter's fault, regardless if the van had the right to turn left. He deserved it.

  • The scooter driver was definitely a dumbass for trying to pass on the left when the car had its left blinker on. However, I don't know if the car was performing a legal maneuver, as there is a double yellow. It looks like he was trying to make a U-turn, which would explain the swing to the right before turning.

  • @iamfunkmaster i agree not only was he trying to pass the driver of the van when there clearly was no room to pass but the driver had his blinker on and began to turn. i am just glad no one was hurt.

  • @5jerry1 I would agree with that. It is seemingly becoming more and more poplular, although I have no earthly idea why. The only vehicles that should be allowed to do that are semi trucks and buses (or anything large like that). SUVs, cars, pickups, etc. should be able to turn in one direction without starting to turn in the opposite direction first. That only serves to confuse other motorists.

  • @3rdMillenniumCoyote1

No-one who swerves right to make a left turn and vice versa deserves to keep their driver's license. It's dangerous and just plain stupid.

  • Hmm, well from the looks of it they're both at fault. The van driver didn't turn on his turn signal and as for the guy on the scooter, you're not supposed to overtake on double yellow lines.
