@roysrour To the "West", it ideologically kind of was, as well as Albania - but it's true they were never in the Warsaw Pact and had their own versions of communism.

So true. I got the accident with Mercedes C, 1999. Mercedes was broken and Lada was broken only a bit. I remember one guy said "gniotsja nielamiotsa" ;)) I got Lada 2107 in my garage. Great youngitmer! I kept it and maybe I will sell it for 489478578735 E:)) I treat Lada like a kind of investment. It is in a great shape!
Lada roxx! And I can admit that FSO 1500 was a little bit worse than Lada (especially the engine)

I'd say that from motor show Top Gear became petrol head show. Amd btw originally its Polski Fiat 125p, not FSO 1300

I have owned a Skoda 120 LS from 1983, which needed a new headcylinder at 25,000 km .... My Lada 1200 and 1300 was musch better, although none off them was 10 years old before they were so rusty, that i had to scrap them . The engine and the gearbox was like new after 9 years . I once drove a FSO 125 and it had an awfull steering even compared to my Lada .
Yugoslavia wasn't eastern block, smart ass.

This is clearly when Top Gear was a motoring show, before it became just an entertainment show.
