The Benchmade Pika II is difficult to open handed due to its overly strong back spring. That with some other minor issues resulted in my low likability and a tepid review previously. Enter the Pika G10 model, marketed under the BM Harley Davidson banner for now. It fixes some of the "Pinkachu" issues and is really a different knife. First, the Pika G10 deploys much quicker since it has a well-balanced back spring; not too strong, not too weak (it amazes me when a company gets this simplest detail wrong as it can ruin a knife's appeal). The knife's G10 scales and purple titanium liners are definite upgrades and make the knife more ergonomic, much thinner, and better looking. The G10 and titanium increase cost but also the looks functionality; the thinness achieved is marvelous. The G10 slab is well scalloped to allow access to the 14mm unbeveled deployment hole. The loop style pocket clip is the same (and adequate for POU)and carries deep and unobtrusively when oriented for tip down carry. Tip up placement of the clip with produce a protrusion of the G10 handle in the pocket. The Pika G10 still has the well-shaped, hollow-ground blade of the original Pika: good belly, sharp tip. It arrived sharper than the Pika II but still needed some ceramic rod touchup (and ended up razor sharp thereafter). The 14C28N steel, similar apparently to Sandvik 13C26, seems offer good corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening (and fine edge capabilities), and decent edge holding. Sadly the long run of jimping on the Pika G10 remains useless because it lacks sharp enough edges (but can be corrected with Dremel wheel mod as shown in the Pinkachu knife). At 3.8 oz, the Pika G10 carries well and makes a solid EDC companion. If it had REAL jimping it would be completely redeemed but still it's an improvement. ///////////////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 8 out of 10 /////////////////////// Music: Derek Audette, original works, http://derekaudette.ottawaarts.com/music.php

  • Great vids thank you. Little off point but do you know what happened to wranglerbarn?

  • We miss wrangler. He had a video up for a little while that explained that his family came first and he found that the videos were taking away from them. Plus they had a huge move coming up and he wanted to give his time to that. Aside from that, he was trolled pretty heavily by the creeps that skirt around the edges of the guns and knife community here on YouTube and it had to be enormously stressful. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • It's not a Benchmade if it's not made in the U.S.A!

  • I'll keep my old US made Bench Mades' and my Chris Reeves. None of this foreign made stuff any more. Next they will be selling the BM knives in Wal Mart.

  • PIKACHU!!!!!!!!!!!!! >.< sorry forgive me...

  • @osugoodolboy33 i like the monochrome and the mini ambush, i really wanna get the mini ambush its hard to find though. the red class has changed to H&K and the designs are basically the same. lol

  • @sleek555 yeah me either... cheaply constructed... glad they did away with their red class

  • @osugoodolboy33 gotcha. im just not feeling this design.

  • @sleek555 I'm with you there bro!

  • @sleek555 if you look up the AFCK by benchmade (which was originally produced over a decade ago) it looks exactly the same but just manufactured cheaper... and yes the AFCK has the spyder hole which was the first benchmade that ever had one (yes they paid spyderco to use the design) . The AFCK was designed by a former navy seal that made it with Spyderco in mind, but they passed on the design. Benchmade did not and ended up producing it. The designer wanted the spyder hole

  • if only the harley davidson wasnt on the blade i'd have one now.

  • @osugoodolboy33 its a red class benchmade, benchmades answer to the byrd line by spyderco (notice the hole that copies spyderco)

  • @CutleryNovice any knife that has a hole mimicking spyderco i will never buy unless its a spyderco smh
