Dr. Donald Tashkin of UCLA Geffin School of medicine talks to Lanny about the effects of cannabis (marijuana, pot, herb, smoke, etc) on the lungs. Dr. Tashkin reveals the results of his study on the effects to the lungs, effects on congestive obstructive pulmonary disease, and the minor irritation experienced as a result of smoking marijuana. Part 1 of a 2 part interview.

Cannabis was made illegal because the paper industry was split between the hemp and the wood pulp factions. The wood pulp people had more money and won, which caused a negative ripple effect in our society such as the loss of a valuable medicine. Since the prohibition of cannabis began the cancer rates have grown at an alarming rate. Cannabis is used for thousands of purposes and it's loss of use has caused great hardship to everyone.
It is time for truth to prevail and prohibition to stop.

It does not doing any harm to the brain it does balance the signals so you are calm :) that's the calm effect. It's good for you and 1000 of research studies prove it and maybe a few don't !! Booo hoo!! if your crying over lung caner or other diseases just eat it or vaporize it. Prop 19 didn't pass because weed is not like alcohol !! alcohol has been in our church for 1000 of years... if it was smoke this in remembrance of me then it would be legal !! I would rather have a joint on my wedding

Marijuana is a plant, a very nice plant and has been around for thousand of years! so if I see fed's destroying plants then they are destroying the world.. Marijuana should be used for medical purposes, it is safer then Hydrocodone which has addictive qualities to it! Marijuana will not only help the economy but also will help the health of millions of americans!!

Marijuana has been used beneficially throughout history by much of mankind. I don't care what the GOV tries to promote about it. I guess the GOV want's us to think those people were wrong for using it all those thousands of years and that now today WE are smarter for using prescribed medications that are very unnatural and have mile long descriptions of the potential negative side effects and health risks. We can use those harmful drugs but not safe natural ones?? Does that make sense? GOV = $
