For those who have been trying to do this with the media button, it doesn't always seem to work. I showed you how to embed the HTML, but if you forgot, watch this video, because it's quite easy (and not this slow if you have a better internet connection!).

  • I know this video's about 6 months old, but I've tried everything, including the steps in this video to get a youtube link to show up on my edublog site. I can do it just fine on a self-hosted Wordpress blog, but for some reason, I can't get it to work at all on edublogs. I wonder if it has something to do with the recent changes YouTube has been making?

  • @jcdeagan Actually I think it's on the Edublogs end - just before my students handed in their last assignment they couldn't get YouTubes to embed. I didn't look into it, because it was too late, but they said Edublogs had handicapped the features of the free accounts in an effort to get more people to pay. It's a shame, because I liked offering Edublogs the referrals instead of Wordpress. Worth emailing them about if you're persisting?

  • Thank you for that, just made the whole process very simple for me

    Cheers

  • @Composerhome They actually replied to a tweet I sent them, and in a forum post that they linked to, they claim it was for security reasons, and they're working on a fix. Not exactly sure what that security reason would be, being that I can self-host a Wordpress blog and YouTube videos are regular fare on there. I'm sure your students are correct in assuming it's trying to get more folks to pay for the "Pro" version, which isn't all that Pro.
