1957 CHEVIES ARE AN ICONIC SYMBOL OF AMERICAN FIFTIES CARS. TWO DOOR BELAIRS, NOMAD WAGONS, CONVERTIBLES, AND SPORT HARDTOP SEDANS TOP THE LIST OF FAVORITE FIFTY SEVENS. HARDLY ANYONE THINKS ABOUT THE HANDYMAN STATION WAGONS. HANDYMAN WAGONS WERE FOUND IN THE 150 AND 210 SERIES ONLY. THE UPGRADE WAGON MODELS WERE CALLED THE TOWNSMAN AND CAME ONLY AS A FOUR DOOR. CHEVY OFFERED 6 ENGINES FOR '57: L-HEAD 6, 235 CID, 265 CID V8, AND FOUR 283 CID V8, WITH 185, 220, 250, 283 BHP.
THE WAGON SHOWN HERE IS A SERIES 210, SECOND FROM THE BOTTOM RUNG OF CHEVY MODELS. IT COST $2,402 AND WEIGHS 3,406 LBS. ALL CHEVY MODELS HAD 115 INCH WHEELBASES. THIS EXAMPLE HAS THE STOVEBOLT SIX ENGINE. BLACK AND WHITE PAINT MATCHES THE BLACK AND WHITE INTERIOR. NOTICE THE RADIO BLANK ON THE DASH SO THERE IS NO RADIO INCLUDED. EVEN THOUGH 17,528 HANDYMAN WAGONS WERE BUILT NOT TOO MANY OF THESE ARE AROUND MUCH LESS COLLECTIBLE AND RESTORED. SO, THIS WAGON IS TRULY A RARE VEHICLE. Nice looking car. It's not often you think of Chevy and six cylinder engine. Most 57 Chevys that I've seen had V8 engines.

@Seattlecarnut I know what you mean.  But the sixes, the old stovebold 6 was a long running, solid economy engine that a lot of Chevy owners might prefer. Thanks for enjoying this Chevy wagon.
