Hollywood actor and pop vocalist Tony Martin charted nearly 40 hits in his long career. He hosted a short-lived TV program, The "Tony Martin Show", in 1954 - the year the song "Here" became his last Top 5 hit.
LYRICS:
Here, in this enchanted place
Here, enclosed in your embrace
Here with you so near to me
Here is where I want to be
The world outside may be thrilled by
The treasures that people buy for gold
But I would rather be thrilled by
The treasures that I alone can hold
Here, beside the warmth of you
Here, within a dream for two
Here, for all eternity
Here is where I want to be
(instrumental & chorus break)
But I would rather be thrilled by
The treasures that I alone can hold
Here, beside the warmth of you
Here, within a dream for two
Here, for all eternity
Here is where I want to be

you don't get this type of singing today, but there again there is only
one Tony Martin, called the best technical singer of them all by no less
than the great Mel Torme

Today's music can't even come close to yesterdays. Especially Tony Martin and all time greatest. I used to have all his records and in moving, I lost some of them and this is one of them.

your first comment---this record has a very special history for me-in 1971 i found some 78s in my nightstand-no idea how they got there-here/philosophy was one of them-i liked the novelty of 'philosophy'...played it plenty-then DROPPED the record..after only one day....THIRTY years later i was in a used record store in whittier-talked to the guy about it-he presented me with a tape a few weeks later-friend of his had that record
