Shot in 1968 on Rick Shaw's "Saturday Hop", Miami, FL. John was 34 years old and had a young looking Bluesbreaker band that didn't look too enthusiastic being on TV. Check out Mick Taylor on the guitar. Sooo young and talented.

  • This is welcome but APPALLINGLY bad coverage. Out of synch, clear miming and a ghost harp. Don't mean to be ungrateful - I'm genuinely pleased to see 60s Mayall on here but ... JESUS!

  • @TheGreenBadger Would you like me to delete it? It is what it was at the time. Mayall and company is not in sync. They agreed to mime the record live. Quit yer bitchin'. This is a historical clip, warts and all.

  • @conkyjoe My my, aren't we touchy?! Despite the repetition of the fact that it's welcome and the appreciation of seeing John Mayall. No negative feedback allowed, is that it? Because you put it up (thank you AGAIN), and because it was done a while ago, no-one is allowed to pass comment on the production values? Put your toys back in your pram you child.

  • @TheGreenBadger Move along, nothing here...........

  • playing guitar with a harmonica in his hand ? ??

  • Always loved this album, and still have the vinyl- I'm an old time pot head from southern CA. Funny how there's no Hammond organ on stage, but there is in the track. ;-)

  • @conkyjoe Oh no, this is still superb!

It takes me back to when i saw them around this time. Many bands did the same type of filming back then..Jimi Hendrix Exp, The Cream, Procul Harum, Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher...UK's Top Of The Pops was the show for seeing artists who weren't plugged in ( LOL). But it was all a laugh and Jimi certainly saw it this way. It's only music after all. Best wishes to you and thanks again!

  • @otto32848 Have you seen John Mayall 1982 concert with blues greats? Mick Taylor, John McVie, Colin Allen, and Albert King, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Etta James, Sippie Wallace too. Really cool concert. You must see it/hear it.

  • @cameltooth1 They never give a good shot but I'm pretty sure it's Colin Allen on drums and Steve Thompson on bass. They also played together in Stone The Crows.

  • @conkyjoe I agree, Mayall is a legend!

  • As you say, it is what it is. Just about all the shows back then did the lip sync thing. It's still fun to look at.

  • @throbbingdominoes I think the drummer is Colin Allen. Aynsley is really good. Didn't he play with Journey in the '70's?

  • this is fuckin awesome................ansley dunsbar on drums!!!! the other lads are blues purists. of course they are thinking they are sell outs. dunsbar is in between laughing. he went on to play with frank zappa in the mothers. this is a gem. a true diamond in the rough. keep up the good work! hang fire daddy-o

  • my auntie josephine in her 80's can play better than these bunch of cadavers, yak is this the blues, what happened to Lonnie Max???????????????
