  • Okay, I'll start with one bias: this piece is my favorite piece of classical music. Now to my comment: To me, this recording is the best classical one ever. I've listened to many other recordings of this piece, even Gilels with other Orchestras, and nothing I've even heard comes close to this recording. It is one of the few recordings I own that make me think my Polk Audio speakers were worth every penny I paid for them

  • A magesterial performance by Gilels I have never heard anyone perform this work better than him. Simply breathtaking

  • I love this version both the orchestra, conductor and soloist. It´s the measure against the other versions must be compared.

  • @RWinkley02124 Richter's is a great recording too which of course he won a grammy award for if i am not mistaken.

  • @TheGreatRichter I would vote in favor of Richter's recording with Leinsdorf but this is definitely in the same league

  • Gilels of course, but just listen to the Orchestra!!!!

  • Amazing !

    Thank you for Emil Gilels.
