Reduce or eliminate blurred photos and videos with this simple trick. Make your own camera stabilizer and see how sharp and crisp your photos and video can be even without a tripod.

This stabilizer folds up small enough to fit in your pocket and allows you to can hand-hold your camera with shutter speeds at least 3 f-stops slower than without. Who needs a heavy, bulky tripod when you have one of these?

  • isn't all you need is a strap to your shoulder? I mean the point of this thing is so your hands can apply force in just one direction, and not worry about keeping it in one position, which is why our hands shake - holding the camera in one position. But if you can have a strap that stretches from your shoulder or something, then wouldn't that have the same effect?

  • @DERFVEDA I think that would help a little, but your shoulder moves around a lot. The ground isn't going anywhere. Some people have suggested tying the string to your belt. I think that would be even better than your shoulder, but maybe not as stable as the ground.

  • haha great :D

  • Nice tip - thanks for sharing!

  • I would laugh my ass off if some bird watcher tilted up too quickly to capture some egret flying overhead, forgot to step off the washer, and had his whole rig jerked out of his hands and smashed on the ground. Other than that, good trick, just have to be real careful with your movements!

  • Really nice and simple! I love it!
