2:26 to 2:55 We can clearly see there are bungalows across the street. Why would Joe, an experienced and hard nosed gangster, choose a hideout so close to where people live?

Wouldn't it be more practical to choose a hideout far away from the nearest residential area?

Let's be honest...this is the best scene of the movie. It's gruesome as hell though. A great movie overall as well...one of my favorites.
