"Carabosse" Sleeping Beauty

This is a video of me portraying Carabosse in the ballet Sleeping Beauty. It was absolutely one of the best times I ever had on the stage. I know that there are many technical flaws in my performance and portrayal of the character. I was young when I did this. But still hopefully I can learn from that so when hopefully the next chance presents itself it will be better. For all purposes I merely wanted to share this because for me ... it was an absolute blast to do.

It's the evil fairy. In the Disney version she goes by Maleficient. Forgive my horrible spelling.

really great performance! i think carabosse should always be played by a female. you didnt let the music out-perform you, which is an achievement - it being so extreme (and probably my favourite from SB) and you could really tell you were having fun!

i would love to be Carabosse one day. i've been the Violente fairy, Red Riding Hood, the White Cat, and basically every other character :) but Carabosse is the ultimate goal!

What ballet company is this?

I played Carabosse when I was about 19. It was probably the most fun part I had in any ballet. In our version, I came on disguised as a nursemaid and then as Aurora "died" the disguise flew off.
