Quick run-through of the basics audio editing inside iMovie,This covers just about everything not obvious. For instance, I did not cover "how to drop a clip on your movie" I imagine you can figure that out pretty easy. Things not covered: "audio ducking", "beat matching", EQ, noise reduction. Look for that in advanced audio soon. #iMovie

  • How did you get seperate audio?...I have tried to make different audio tracks to edit them separately? My question is how do u have the three different audio one below another? i cant get mine to look like that...

  • @cluebni See screen setup video

  • is it possible to separate audio channels (left & right) and adjust the volume on those?

  • @tchepourko Not in iMovie no. You can with an external editor like Audible

  • One think that wasn't covered is splitting an audio clip, like a background song, then moving one piece to another section of the movie. For example: I have a movie clip and I drag in some background music from itunes. I want to split the audio clip of background music at a point, separate the song and have it continue a little further on in the movie.

  • Thanks, good tips.

  • How do you edit out unwanted noises from your audio track, such as a loud Cardinal chirping? I can do it in SoundStudio, but I have no idea how to do it in iMovie. Thus, I came to YOU for advice! Thanks for all the really helpful iMovie editing posts, by the way. I always look for your videos as they are the most helpful!

  • @jcneuman left click on your clip, there should be an option called: 'take apart audio' or so (ive got a swedish computer) click on that

Then a purple audio bar pops up and then y you can drag your audio back and forth.

(keep in mind that it isn't sync anymore)

  • @jcneuman1 Grab the audio and slide it over

  • How do you make a song in a video start later than it does in the recording?

  • I'm trying to edit the audio to a concert i went to. I was a kinda close to the speakers so the base is a little too loud. I've tried setting the equilizer to "base reduce" in the Inspector. But that didn't seem to change anything. Does anybody have any tips?

  • Can I take the audio voice of a movie clip and add it over a series of photos? and then fade back in to movie clip? Can someone give me step by step instructions?

    Thanks.

  • I would appreciate if you show us how do you copy part of the audio from a track to align in a new track. Ex: interperting a video in a new language, most often i ve this problem, synchronizing the new translation audio to the action.

  • youre the bomb! thanks!

  • can you give me the link to download
