can you tell the position of the fingers when i strum down up down up...what is the technique (i mean without a pick).Please help, i am nothing more but a neophyte.

Sorry not sure what you mean, are you talking about the hand on the neck of the guitar or the strumming hand???

I always use a pick when strumming cause without does not sound very good and there is no real trick to using a pick, just make sure you use one that is softer/thinner rather than harder/thicker

I listen to it and work it out, after a while when you have learnt a few different patterns you can recognise them in other songs.
