A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945 - by Isao Hashimoto

Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto has created a beautiful, undeniably scary time-lapse map of the 2053 nuclear explosions which have taken place between 1945 and 1998, beginning with the Manhattan Project's "Trinity" test near Los Alamos and concluding with Pakistan's nuclear tests in May of 1998. This leaves out North Korea's two alleged nuclear tests in this past decade (the legitimacy of both of which is not 100% clear).
Each nation gets a blip and a flashing dot on the map whenever they detonate a nuclear weapon, with a running tally kept on the top and bottom bars of the screen. Hashimoto, who began the project in 2003, says that he created it with the goal of showing"the fear and folly of nuclear weapons." It starts really slow — if you want to see real action, skip ahead to 1962 or so — but the buildup becomes overwhelming.

About "1945-1998" ©2003
"This piece of work is a bird's eye view of the history by scaling down a month length of time into one second. No letter is used for equal messaging to all viewers without language barrier. The blinking light, sound and the numbers on the world map show when, where and how many experiments each country have conducted. I created this work for the means of an interface to the people who are yet to know of the extremely grave, but present problem of the world."

Like fireflies. "This part belongs to me! Don't come anywhere near me."
The amount of tests and nuclear weapons in the hands of governments / military doesn't create a positive perspective. Much worse however is the fact that they believe we actually need those nukes. One day there might come a nutter who is in reach of "the button". If you strip away the thin layer of society and culture, we're still pretty stupid bloodthirsty savages.

Actually, most nuclear explosions in the U.S. were in the state of Nevada, not California.

I compared it on Wikipedia and it seems actually to agree, excuse my scepticism, but I thought it never possible that there were so many.I thought ten maybe maximum fifty but not over two thousand, finally I understand why so many people die from cancer and why burnt Pom Frites are carcinogenic.

Refining the weapons, American nuclear devices are smaller, cleaner, more accurate and lower yield than their Russian counterparts.
The aim of American nuclear weapon testing was to perfect the devices so as to minimize fallout as much as possible and eliminate collateral damage, and to develop a nuclear pulse drive for spacecraft.

I don't really care what the point was. As if that wasn't painfully obvious enough. You didn't get it, did you? I am just interested in belittling sad little "men" like you. Inconsistency? You have said that twice now but have not pointed to any example. This is because you are talking based on emotion and not thought and there is no example. Then you call me stupid. hahahaha oh you are just gold.

I think you are technically both right. It makes sense for rising cancer because of radiation AND because of rising population.
