    I am currently listening to this on a dark, cold, rainy night just outside of downtown, looking at the gorgeous skyline, one tower in particular glowing, and the amber hue of streetlights in the distance.

    Naima is the name ofJ. Coltrane's first wife,the name is a variation on NOEMI. who according to the Bible , was the sister of the RUTH, parented with Jesus of Nazareth (!) And Indeed, Naima is a very common name in the arabic (and non arabic world, Iran,Turkey),a wonderful name, I named my own daughter after this song, cheers !
