@Ashleymjy Yeah, bands like that make it really tough to be a metal fan because this type of song and album is the last thing that people think of when they find out that you like metal - it all gets obscured by the likes of Slipknot, Disturbed, etc.

@TheMetalguitarguy Because (at least in the U.S.) it's marketed that way, and the most vocal and noticeable portion of its listener base here reinforces the image with their attitudes.

Honestly, I was out of high school like 7 years before I listened to metal, because I thought it was all nasty stuff like Cannibal Corpse.
