a combination of a Gamecube inside of a Dreamcast. An updated video of it can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLBLiMMBY8s

I've updated it even more since the second video. Added a 128MB internal memory card, replaced the pink painted parts of the shell with the standard white shell, and make the controller ports flush. I redid the controller ports with abs cement instead of bondo (controller ports are held in with bondo in the second video, that's why the front looks all cracked). I might upload a 3rd update video sometime in the future.

  • Nice! I'm trying to build one for my own but I don't know where to start. Did you do this on your own or did you use a tutorial?

  • @656er I did it on my own. If you need any help doing this mod just send me a private message. I would be glad to help! The first thing you would want to do is to remove the expansion ports on the bottom of the motherboard. The hardest part is probably getting the disc drive positioned correctly. If I ever come across another gamecube for cheap I'll make a tutorial. Haha and I'll spray paint the case instead of using one that I painted in elementary school :D.

  • @penguin5822 Thanks man! So by removing the expansion ports, the motherboard could lay flat at the bottom of the Dreamcast shell, right?

  • @656er Yeah, that's the idea. You don't have to desolder the ports though. You can take a needle nose pliers and carefully break them off by bending them back and forth slowly until the pins break. If you go that route, be really careful not to damage the motherboard with the needle nose pliers. It's a lot easier and faster than desoldering the ports, but it can be very damaging to the motherboard if your pliers slip off and scratch something.

  • @penguin5822 Ok, gotcha! And what about the Dreamcast shell, did you do any modifications to it? I've read somewhere that the cube's controller ports, AV and power slot align perfectly with the Dreamcast's.

  • @656er The nintendo AV port didn't fit in the dreamcast AV port so I had to cut the case with a rotary tool to make it fit. Same with the power port. The power port is connected to the gamecube motherboard by wires so you can move it to wherever you need it to be. For the controller ports I had to cut out all the dreamcast controller ports out of the plastic and secure the gamecube port plastic in using abs cement.
