You can actually have the car programmed with tech II to actually turn the lights off with the switch look it up

my 03 vector has the hid's, and they work the bright and dim modes, but the 2 BIG headlights that are like a white/yellow color do not work when at all unless i flash the high beams with the car off, and they are brighter than my hid's, why dont they work when im driving?? they are alot better at bright lighting

This thoroughly confused me when I bought my 2003 9-5. I finally figured it out myself. I just leave the lights in the ON position. You can also remove the daytime running lights fuse on the fuse panel, making the lights turn off when in the OFF position, in case you didn't know. Great video! This will help a lot of confused first time Saab owners out there. lol
