  • Nerdy girls rule!

  • Brilliant lecture; it's amazing the types of things creationists think they have a right to get away with.

  • It is interesting, and not at all surprising how these ID people are lying. and yet "they" are for "family values" etc ad nauseum. Just proving once again, that these so-called religious people are the ones that are lacking in moral values. If you have to LIE to sell your product, how good can your product be?

  • Religious people believe in things that aren't real.

  • I have thought of a fair and balanced way of dealing with creationist: They are only allowed medicine made without the use of evolution engaged in the process of development of the treatment.

This seems the most fair way of starting. The Creationists can keep up with the whole "you are going to hell" and the Evolutionists can reply with maybe so but I don't have Small pox, Influenza, etc. And I'm not gonna die at 30.

  • @Ruddy07011 "How are things in the bronze age?" Mostly buried under dirt. Some are preserved in museums.

    Why do you ask?

  • @MorganMarvinson How are things in the bronze age?

  • "It's about who will control public policy" BINGO! Who is controlling public policy, might I ask? What was that you were saying about projection?

Please, do tell us what motivates you? It isn't science. You aren't a scientist. Dawkins is overt about his philosophical underpinnings. Please do not lie to us, what are yours?

"This is a political fight" How about if people choose not to elect people who muzzle free speech and harrass those with legitimate questions? You make it a fight.

  • "ID [Intelligent design] is being taught in some universities." Great!

"very overtly critical of it" Of course.

"To lie to them ..." I'm sure you FEEL that way, but dealing with honest questions is to be truthful. Hiding it is to be dishonest--but, of course, that is what you recommend.

"Judicial poetry" the ACLU has some good writers.

"using sanitized terminology" How about, WHILE STICKING TO SCIENCE.

"He's a mooney ... they don't seem to mind" There goes your conspiracy.

  • "... keep company with dominionists" I have no affection for the dominionist view of "taking back the nation for God." Who cares who they keep company with? Intelligent design only makes sense. Who does the NCSE keep company with? Does it really matter?

  • Did you expect me to be surprised that "Explore Evolution" came from the Discovery Institute when I ordered it directly from them? There is no masking its source. The authors have produced a well-written book on the strengths and weaknesses of the evolutionary theory. I wish high school science textbooks were as fairly and carefully written!

  • Now. Let's talk about the WEDGE strategy that got evolution into the public school system, shall we?

The year was 1925, a young man agreed to be charged with having taught evolution in Dayton, Tennessee. Had John T. Scopes actually done this? He was a math teacher and the coach of the school football team, substituting for the regular science teacher. On the day he was charged for having taught evolution, he was sick and had not taught the lesson he "planned" to teach.

    Who was behind this?
