As a former serviceman I have to agree that soldiers in this country (UK) are treated with next to no respect but I do have to take my hat off to the people of Wooton Basset who with no promt from anyone line the streets to show there respect to our fallen heros.

@Bonesey007 The government may have renamed the road BUT it is due to proud Candians like myself that have stood on the highway and watched as the Troops have passed that it was named. As well I for one would never even dream of being insulted by or asking one of our troops not to display their uniform because it offends me. If it was not for that uniform and the courageous men and women who wear it I would not be here to say this... Thank you again to all troops.

we are a joke of a nation. we have little respect for our heroes

You have to know that the Government was not involved in this, it is completely a grass roots movement so to speak that started with the people wanting to pay respect to our fallen, the government didn't really do much, except re name the highway where the heases travel the Highway of Heros and that was due to public request.

The british government would ather pay respect to the murdering theiving immigrants in this country rather than it's own troops.
