it's ironic...the romulans tried to drive a wedge between all the major races, trying to start a full scale war, out of fear that they would start to work together and make the UFP, but in the end the romulans helped the creation of it by the war they tried to start!

The start of the Rom-Fed war a la the Duane books could have bene the end of Enterprise the series, have them be the ship the Roms jumped instead of the Stone Mountain.... chilling way to end it but it takes us to the time line we know...
