"What goes on in the mind of a six-year old?
John Shiurba leads a large ensemble in a realization of the late Matthew Sperry's composition Treasure Mouth. Sperry's score calls for a band to follow along to lyrics as fast as they can be written out by others — call it improv karaoke. In this performance the writer was local author/artist Beth Lisick and the karaoke backdrop was lit by a magic lantern, the archaic movie projector of choice for phantasmagoria.
Recorded live at the Luggage Store Gallery in San Francisco on December 18, 2008, as part of Outsound Presents: Music By the Eyeful.
