@leechonfilms if you went to play basketball in a random place >> most likely you'll meet random people, right?
so if you went there over and over............. eventually you'll establish some sort of connection "friendship" with the people over there.
you can apply the same concept to the PSN >> each time you go online and start playing you'll meet all kind of people that you can connect/share/friend/engage with. that's how i do it >> i simply go online and play :)
@leechonfilms The process i am holding on to right now is just adding a reminder of forwarding the email to others and by that, i think i can add a signature reminder that sates "you can join our group by subscribing to the group home page by a link ", that's all i could think of at the mean time, other than that, i think i would focus on the content of what we are actually spreading out, because i think that there is no success without intrinsic value of what your planning to make a success of
@leechonfilms until now its google groups in particular, because we use it for promoting dawah programs in our uni, as well as making some useful posts of topics and links to good websites, as well as getting feedback and statistics from our subscribers, and its totally free
@SFAvfx I wish you had introduced yourself. It was an missed opportunity for a genuine friendship. I moved down to DC in April. I hope we cross paths in the future :-)
@SFAvfx Promotion isn't the goal. Promotion is a means that isn't always appropriate. The idea behind building a network is to gain trust and build a reputation (brand) through helping others either accomplish their goals or help them get closer to it.
You don't market products or services. That's comes off egotistical and self-serving. You market the positive result and the accomplishment of goals that people are aspiring to and that you're the one to help them get there.
@akhan07 The very nature of business today is trust oriented. In order for people to take from what you have to offer them, there has to be a level of trust that's built between the two parties. The first step is positioning. It's about having a voice that speaks to specific pain that those I'm trying to connect with are dealing with day in and day out.
"Hey look at my product" is me-focused. "Allow me the opportunity to alleviate your pain" if you-focused
@leechonfilms ohh so when you say two-way communication, is that part of why you make videos giving advice? So instead of saying "Hey everyone, look at my product!" it would be more effective to also show interest in the audience we're trying to reach?
I always thought the purpose behind building a network is to promote something specific and create more opportunities on what you have to offer, and through this process relations are built. But I do see where your coming from on building a connection with people.
I saw you once coming of ICPC masjid, but I didn't want to bother you:)
