Is there snow in the northern parts of japan most of the year?
-
We went night skiing once on the Alps, we were in a group of ~30 (classroom worth). We tied our homeroom teacher to a sled thing with help of the slope security, and skiied down in the dark with torches. It was awesome. If you get the chance to ski at night, don't pass it up!

But if I were to move to Japan, perhaps I'd choose a place not resembling my home country so much... I don't know! At least I'd check Hokkaido out. Of the climate, I think it's easier to adjust to a cold climate than to a hot and humid climate. I think in my case the temperature would be about the same if I were to go to Hokkaido, or at least no dramatic change which would shock me and make me uncomfortable. Anyway, thanks for the great videos.

Of all the main islands of Japan, Hokkaido reminds me the most of my home country Finland. We don't have mountains and snowfall here isn't as much as it is in Hokkaido, but it is the closest to my country that I can see in Japan. Some photos I saw of Hokkaido were like I could not tell from the photo were they from my country or not. Hokkaido is definitely a place I want to go to in Japan.

What is the average snowfall there? Here in New York it's not uncommon to get over 150 inches with the lake effect!
:O. I'am packing my bags right now
