Google sketchup foucault tester

A foucault tester is a device to examine the quality of telescope mirrors .
Though they can be build with simple tools and materials , these devices are pretty accurate .
I used google sketch up to show the one i'm making .
Mind you this the one in this animation is not complete .
And i still have to find a way to make the parts moving .(in the animation that is . )
I also have to find a way to add info without it appearing in all the frames .

I did build this tester back then just to see if it would work .

I used i flatted led as lightsource and this was positioned under the peephole .

But living on a second floor with a wooden floor makes it hard to use .

This won't actually work very well in practice. Check the designs on the Stellafane site for good tips.

One major thing is that you seem to be using a moving light source/knife edge, but the light source doesn't really move. I would really suggest you get involved and do interferometry tests instead. Check out the interferometry yahoo group for details.
