Man, I fucking LOVE the Game Gear, but my parents don't think retro stuff is cool. *Crying Face*

I bought my Game Gear at a garage sale 3 years ago.
It came with a battery pack, an AC cable, 3 games (with the manuals) and a huge carrying case.
All for 2 dollars.

Sorry for commenting on so many of your videos lol. But I need a little help. I dusted off my game gear today and I turned it on, but part of the screen was not working. Part of the top of the screen was black cutting off the picture. Is this an easy fix? Can I fix the LCD or replace it? Or just get another game gear?

Funny you should say that, but about a year ago I went to a local pawn shop and found Virtua Racing for the Genesis for $1.99! And I took it home and popped it in my Genesis and the thing worked! I was so excited to have a copy of this game! I love it by the way!

I had a Game Gear with plenty of games, G-Lock, Ninja gaiden and many more, I think it's still here somewhere, however I remember at some point the screen started showing black horizontal lines. Anyone know if theres a way to fix it?

one of my favourite systems
Hey I was wondering if anybody could tell me if my game gear works. I bought it second hand and t the moment I have no game for it but when I turn it on (with batteries) it turns off after a couple of second. Is it broken because I would like to get some games for it but I dont want to find a game and then find out it doesnt work!

sounds like bad capacitors. They are common on the Game Gear. It shouldn't turn off even without a game in it. Some of mine do that. They turn on and then off in a second or two. But usually if I turn it back on after that it stays on.

I bought a game gear at a thrift store, the piece of crap broke a month later. However its a really good system

Not uncommon. The Capacitors used in the Game Gear are low grade and most of them are starting to fail now.
