  • It should be this way again, no business should take place. The Senate changed the rules, make them again change the rules back to the way it was in the past. Until this happens, Americans should not have to pay the Senators and Representatives in the House. Another thing that should change, those who serve the people should be limited to 2 oaths of office. 1) Their oath of Office and their oath to uphold the Constitution. No more than that, no oaths to private citizens like Grover Norquist.

  • From now on, whenever there is a filibuster of one sort or another for whatever reason, there should never be a "gentleman's" agreement that the Senate can carry on with other business. This is an affront to the real way a filibuster should be and is supposed to be run. The filibuster is a strategic and nuclear option of completely shutting down all business of the Senate, nothing gets done. Historically, someone who called for a filibuster had to speak until either party changed their minds.
