Collage Art for Kids

This series was designed by talented art teacher Donna Hugh (also instructor in "Art Lessons for Children" and "Drawing Lessons for Beginners") to give the aspiring artist instruction in how to select and position various materials and objects in order to create pleasing, original collage compositions. Each of the four volumes in this series contains step-by-step lessons.

"Texture and Theme Collage"
In lesson one, "Texture Collage," Donna first shows textured materials she has collected, such as bark, seeds, twigs, feathers, and cork. Then she arranges some of these materials in pleasing layers and formations to create a collage that emphasizes texture. For her second lesson, "Theme Collage," Donna selects a realistic picture. She then chooses and positions a variety of materials compatible with the picture she has selected in order to create an artistic and beautiful theme collage.
