Hey there, Tatiana Diana for Clevver Movies with the latest on Mr. Tom Cruise!

Paramount Pictures and Skydance productions are currently in negotiation mode with Cruise to star in "One Shot," a thriller based on Lee Childs book series. The story is about Cruise's character, Jack Reacher who was once military officer and is now a drifter.

Although Paramount sees Cruise as the perfect fit for the lead role, book fans may have a hard time adjusting to the obvious differences between the original "reacher" and Tom's version. The book "reacher" is about 6'5 and almost 250 pounds...which I am guessing is almost DOUBLE Tom's measurements.

Regardless of this major difference, Child, the author of the book series is confident Cruise will get the job done! "Reacher's size in the books is a metaphor for an unstoppable force, which Cruise portrays in his own way," Child said according to the Hollywood Reporter.

No word yet when production will begin, but we will make sure to keep you posted!

this sucks just found out that cruise will play reacher. cruise is a good actor but reacher is imposing, 6ft 5in 210 to 250lbs i dont doubt cruise's acting ability but as a fan of the book i cant get around the fact that a person shorter than 5ft 9in will be playing a character thats as big as Cam Newton...i mean come on we need a guy at least as tall as Timothy Olyphant or viggo mortenson a person with size who says alot without saying a word!

I can't believe they allowing a pretty boy like Cruise to be cast for this. Can you imagine Cruise trying to mimic Reacher's demeanor? It just sounds silly for him to act like Reacher. I hope I am not disappointed.

Still reeling about this. Reachers size is not a metaphor. It's as plain as day. There are so many good actors who could have done this as Tom Cruise is not the one. I would have gone with Liev Shreiber
